On March 16, Yadav was granted release order by trial courts from jail in accordance with the Jharkhand High Court's verdict, providing him provisional bail in all three cases of fodder scam on medical grounds.

The RJD supremo, who is serving sentences in a number of fodder scam cases, is also scheduled to complete formalities for availing a six-week provisional bail granted to him by the Jharkhand High Court.

On Friday, Lalu Yadav – who is serving jail sentence in Ranchi after being convicted in multiple fodder scam-related cases – had arrived in Patna on Friday to attend his son Tej Pratap Yadav’s wedding on Saturday.
Lalu could not attend his son's engagement ceremony on April 18 following which Tej Pratap had tweeted “Miss you PAPA”.
Tej Pratap Yadav, a sitting MLA and former state minister, will tie the knot with Aishwarya Rai, daughter of RJD legislator Chandrika Rai, on May 12 in Patna.

This came on a day when the RJD supremo, serving a jail term in fodder scam cases, left AIIMS on a wheelchair after being discharged by the hospital in the national capital, even as his party termed the move a "conspiracy to murder him".
Informed sources in RIMS said the officials of Birsa Munda Central Jail, where he has been lodged, have conveyed to the hospital to keep Lalu Prasad there till his shifting to AIIMS in Delhi.

In a written plea, the 69-year-old leader who is lodged in the central jail since his conviction on December 23, had sought leniency due to his illness and old age.
