The victims of the fire accident in Abbasiya have been identified as Mathew Muzhakkal, his wife Lini Abraham and their children Isaac and Erin. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait expressed condolences and said it was in touch with their family for the repatriation of the victims' mortal remains.
A senior police officer stated that on Thursday, they received a PCR call from a caller who identified himself as the husband of the 20-year-old victim, reporting the alleged incident.

Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, who flew to Kuwait on Thursday morning, met victims of those injured in the Kuwait fire tragedy. Singh, after reaching the hospital where the injured had been admitted, said all were safe.
MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh assured the victims of the Indian government assistance. As per the statement, the Indian Embassy and MoS Singh will oversee the early repatriation of mortal remains of those who have died and in the unfortunate incident.
Kuwait: In the early hours of June 12th, a catastrophic fire erupted in the Al-Mangaf building in southern Kuwait, where approximately 195 migrant workers were residing. Tragically, the blaze claimed the lives of about 40 Indian nationals and left another 50 injured.

Before leaving for Kuwait to oversee assistance of Indians injured in the devastating fire and to ensure the repatriation of the mortal remains of those killed, the Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh said that some of the bodies have been charred beyond recognition.

MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in a statement, said Singh will coordinate with local authorities for early repatriation of mortal remains of those who have died in this unfortunate incident.
"The fire mishap in Kuwait City is saddening. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their near and dear ones. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait is closely monitoring the situation and working with the authorities there to assist the affected," PM Modi said in a social media post.
