Jammu & Kashmir: A large fire broke out at a grocery shop in J&K's Kupwara at around midnight. The Hamdard-e-Kupwara unit of the Indian Army (41 RR) arrived on the scene and successfully evacuated all residents.

Kupwara Assembly Election 2024: Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference candidate Bashir Ahmad Dar won the election in 2014, defeating Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party's (JKPDP) Mohd Fayaz. The former was polled 24,754 votes with a vote share of 34.47 per cent.
Three terrorists were killed in a joint anti-infiltration operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said on August 29.
