The Union Environment Minister had earlier posted a video of Gamini on March 10 saying she had given birth to five cubs. With the sixth cub being born, the cheetah count at Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park has increased to 27, including 14 cubs.
The number of cheetah cubs born in India now stands at 13 and this is the fourth cheetah litter on Indian soil and the first litter of cheetahs brought from South Africa, said Union Minister Bhupender Yadav.

The good news was reported days after the Kuno National Park reported the death of a cheetah Shaurya. Cheetah, brought from Namibia in September 2022, succumbed to health complications.
The director of the project overseeing the cheetah relocation explained that the exact cause of Shaurya's death remains uncertain and can only be determined through a post-mortem examination.
In March 2023, Siyaya, who was later renamed as Jwala, had given birth to four cubs, but only one of them survived. Jwala was also translocated to the KNP from Namibia.
Eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia and were released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022. And in second batch, 12 cheetahs from South Africa arrived on February 18 at Kuno National Park this year.
The cheetah named Nirva was captured around 10 am in the Dhoret range of Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park in Sheopur district.
The top court took note of a letter written to it by four South African wildlife experts who said some cheetah deaths could have been prevented with better monitoring and veterinary care.

The forest department said the accused were taken into custody in connection with tree-cutting, encroachment and hunting.
