Pakistan on Thursday asserted that the decision of the Supreme Court to stop the military authorities from trial of civilians may not apply to Indian death-row prisoner Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case. It said that the punishments which have been accorded to Kulbhushan are in line with Pakistan’s laws.
Pakistan on Wednesday during a joint sitting session of Parliament passed a bill to give Kulbhushan Jadhav the right to appeal as per the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan introduced the bill in the House, after which the Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani referred the bill to the Standing Committee on Law and Justice, reported Geo News.

Kulbhushan Jadhav will now be able to appeal against conviction in a Pakistan court as Islamabad has approved International Court of Justice (ICJ) ordinance 2020.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said he was willing to provide third consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav. The statement comes a day after India said the second consular access to Jadhav was "neither meaningful nor credible".

Pakistan has provided second consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav on July 16.
Indian consular officers were not given unimpeded access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is on death row on charges of spying and terrorist activities in Pakistan, and the former Indian Navy officer was “visibly under stress”.
Kulbhushan Jadhav's friend, Arvind Singh demanded unconditional consular access.
Kulbhushan Jadhav, the former Indian Navy officer in Pakistani custody was granted his second consular access on Thursday. Kulbhushan Jadhav is currently on a death-row in Pakistan after it accused him of spying for India. He was handed the sentence after a farcical trial in Pakistan.
Jadhav was purportedly "arrested" from Balochistan by Pakistani security forces on March 3, 2016, after he allegedly entered the country from Iran as claimed by Islamabad. India has rejected Pakistan's allegations about Jadhav's involvement in spying and subversive activities and said he was kidnapped from the Iranian port of Chabahar where he was running a business.
Pakistan said on Wednesday that Indian prisoner on death row Kulbhushan Jadhav has refused to file an appeal in the Islamabad High Court against his conviction by a military court despite Pakistani authorities' offer to do so, a claim dismissed by India as "farce".
On September 2, India's Deputy High Commissioner to Pakistan Gaurav Ahluwalia met Jadhav in Islamabad after Pakistan granted consular access to the former naval officer.
The case being tried under Military courts and the Army Act law forbade such individuals or groups from filing an appeal and seeking justice from the civilian court but a special amendment is being made for Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The bench led by Yusuf had ordered an "effective review and reconsideration of the conviction and sentence of Mr Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav.”
