The CBI has summoned former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar, asking him to appear before it on Monday for questioning in connection with the Saradha ponzi scheme case, officials said.
Kumar arrived at the probe agency's office at 11 am today, along with his counsel Biswajit Deb and senior IPS officers Javed Shamim and Murlidhar Sharma.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told a bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi that at the last moment it was decided to wait until Monday morning before approaching the apex court.
