Kedarnath helicopter crash: Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed anguish over the incident and said that he constantly monitoring the situation.
After offering prayers at Badrinath Dham, Mukesh Ambani reached the Kedarnath temple. He donated a total of Rs 5 crore to the temple committees.
An avalanche occurred on Saturday morning in the Himalayan region near Kedarnath shrine but no damage was sustained to the temple, informed Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee President, Ajendra Ajay.
Kedarnath Temple: After nearly a two-month dip in footfall during the monsoon season, there has been a sharp rise in the number of devotees thronging the temple of late.
Kedarnath: The irregularities with several helicopters came to light when it was decided to conduct an audit in June.
Uttarakhand News: The bus carrying 31 pilgrims was returning from Kedarnath when it met with the accident near Vyas Gufa Kaudiyala, the district disaster management office here, informed.
There were 11 people in the vehicle at the time of the accident and they were returning from Kedarnath, said official.
The Uttarakhand govt, on May 11, announced its decision to increase the number of pilgrims by 1,000 each to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that the incident is being probed and an operational advisory has also been issued to all operators for strict compliance to safety standards as per the joint SOP issued for these operations.
