Violent protests took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj on Friday after the brutal killing of three persons of a family by robbers who tied them to their beds on Thursday night and bludgeoned them to death.
Senior officials said they were monitoring the situation but added that there was no violence.
Pachauri, the UP minister for Khadi, village industries and textile, held district authorities responsible for the incident.
Sushil Gupta said he was so scared that he had decided to apply for a gun license and sought protection from the Yogi Adityanath government.
The local police SP, the UP police chief, chief minister and even the Home Minister were informed about the impending violence through social media, but police did not take timely preventive action.
According to information accessed by India TV reporter, Kasganj violence was pre-planned and authorities could have prevented it.
The police today arrested Salim, the prime accused in the murder case of Chandan Gupta, who was allegedly shot dead during the communal clashes in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj on January 26.
He was reportedly singled out for his long beared and thrashed mercilessly by a mob with stones, sticks and bricks.

“Our government is committed to provide security to each and every citizen. Anarchy has no place in the state,” Chief Minister Adityanath said, his first comments on the clashes.
Bareilly District Magistrate Raghvendra Vikram Singh stoked controversy with his remarks on social media, saying "it has become a trend for some to enter Muslim areas, raise anti-Pakistan slogans and create a ruckus."
