Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM), which is set to form part of the new government in the state, has promised to implement the Sarna Code in its election manifesto. It will be interesting to see whether Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led new state government implements the Sarna Code in the state or not.
JMM working president Hemant Soren on Tuesday met Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu and staked claim to form government in the state. Earlier in the day, he was formally elected as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislature party leader.
Hemant Soren called at Marandi at his residence on Tuesday evening and both leaders held closed door meeting for ten minutes.
Extending wishes to JMM working chief, Uddhav Thackeray said, "Congratulations to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and RJD alliance for securing majority under the leadership of @HemantSorenJMM Ji in the Jharkhand Assembly polls."
Sonia Gandhi, the interim chief of the Congress, said that victory of JMM-Congress-RJD alliance in Jharkhand election is of prime importance after BJP failed to retain power in the state, winning just 25 seats in the 81 member assembly.
JMM working president Hemant Soren, who contested the election from two seats — Barhait and Dumka, has claimed victory in both the seats in the Jharkhand assembly election.

Sources in the Congress said the JMM wants it to accept Hemant Soren as the Chief Minister for the 2019 Assembly polls.
