Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a mega rally in Odisha's Jajpur ahead of the inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development programs in the district. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 19,600 crore in Chandikhole, Odisha.
Jajpur labourers death: "There was sudden thunderstorm. Labourers were working at railway siding where a goods train was standing stationary. They sheltered under it but unfortunately, train which did not have an engine attached to it started moving causing accident," said a railway spokesperson.
Fire services personnel of Bari Fire Station rescued 6 people including a newborn baby from a flooded village in Jajpur. Rope technique was used to wade through heavy stream of flood for rescue operation.
Under state government's scheme, Rs. 2000 was distributed per head to all people who completed the full isolation period in Odisha's Jajpur on June 29.
