The ED case is based on an FIR filed recently by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against Ibrahim and others apart from its independent intelligence.
Dawood Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar brought to Narcotics Control Bureau office in Mumbai on June 25.
According to reports, Kaskar was arrested allegedly peddling banned substances from Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab.
In October 2017, the police had registered an offence of extortion based on the complaint of the builder against Iqbal Kaskar and the gang members of Dawood.

The government, Iqbal Kaskar said, refused to accept Dawood Ibrahim’s conditions, saying he is a criminal and thus can’t be given VIP treatment.

Iqbal Kaskar had demanded four flats and Rs 30 lakh as ransom from a builder. According to police, the names of some other builders and politicians have also emerged during the investigation.
Iqbal Kaskar, who was deported from the United Arab Emirates in 2003, is said to be operating Dawood's real estate business in the city.
