A passenger travelling on flight 6E 308 from Delhi to Bengaluru tried opening the flap of the emergency exit in an inebriated state.
After landing at Bhopal, the airport's team, without wasting a second, quickly offboarded the passenger and shifted him safely to the nearest hospital, Bhopal Airport said in a statement.
The Airlines informed that all the necessary security protocols were followed and the aircraft was cleared for takeoff.
Indigo news: A senior DGCA official said that the passenger, identified as Afsar Hussain, booked a ticket for Patna via Indigo flight 6E-214 and reached Delhi airport on January 30 to board the scheduled flight.
Technical snags in 2022: On being asked whether it was a fact that more technical snags are reported in the country due to low-cost airlines, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Gen VK Singh (retired), in a written reply, said that technical snags are experienced during the operation of aircraft.
The incident took place when the aircraft was approaching landing.
However, Union Civil Aviation Minister Scindia said that the young BJP leader Tejasvi Surya had opened the gate "accidentally".
The statutory body did not reveal the identity of the man involved in the incident but added that prima facie "it was opened accidentally".
IndiGo air-hostess and the passenger involved in a heated exchange over choice of meals onboard a flight from Istanbul to Delhi, and aviation regulator DGCA is looking into the incident.

Elbers' appointment, which is subject to regulatory approvals, will be effective from on or before October 1, it said.
