A soldier from Tamil Nadu, who was among the three men killed in Ladakh in a violent face off with Chinese troops, served the Army for 22 long years and was due to retire in a year, his family and state parties said here on Tuesday.
One Indian Army colonel, two jawans have been martyred in violent clashes with Chinese troops at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Galwan Valley in the Eastern Ladakh region. Casualties have also taken place at the Chinese side but there is no confirmation on the numbers yet.

The intrusion on China's part comes two years after the Doklam stand-off between the two nations was resolved. It also comes in the wake of celebrations of the Dalai Lama's birthday in the surronding areas.
