India on Tuesday rejected China's claims on the position of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, and said it has never accepted the so-called unilaterally defined 1959 Line of Actual Control, and that the county's position has been consistent and well known to all including China.
India-China stand-off at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is prevailing since May this year, and only getting worse. Sources have said that India-China soldiers fired 100-200 warning shots earlier this month on the north Bank of Pangong Lake. The incident took place when Indian soldiers gained strategic edge to overlook Chinese positions at Finger 4 area.
