In the last couple of days, the Parliament saw unprecedented developments in which as many as 143 MPs were suspended from both Houses and a TMC MP was seen mimicking the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
JD(U) MP Sunil Kumar Pintu claimed that there was no substantial discussion in the meeting. He further stated that parties had to discuss on seat sharing but that could also not be done.

With little time left for Lok Sabha polls, the opposition INDIA bloc parties on Tuesday decided to finalise seat-sharing "as soon as possible" and some leaders proposed Mallikarjun Kharge's name as the prime ministerial face of the coalition, but the Congress chief said it is important to win first.
After his name was proposed as a candidate to become the country's first Dalit prime minister at a meeting attended by 28 opposition leaders here, Kharge said, "I work for the downtrodden. Let's win first, then we will see. I don't seek anything."
Besides discussions on PM face, the key talks during the I.N.D.I.A. bloc meeting focussed on seat sharing as many leaders pressed that it should be resolved before January 1.
The key challenge before the leaders of various opposition parties is to come up with an alternative common programme as a counter to the ruling dispensation.
I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders brainstormed over the seat-sharing issue as regional parties already hardened their stand claiming maximum seats in their respective states.

I.N.D.I.A bloc Delhi meeting: The first meeting of the joint opposition convened in Patna on June 23 and the second meeting was held in Bengaluru on July 17-18. The third meeting happened in Mumbai during August 31-September 1.
