According to officials on Sunday, the Army made a "mature decision" not to risk civilians and left with seized weapons and ammunition, ending the standoff between a mob led by women and security forces.

According to the army, miscreants fired automatic weapons toward the villages of Urangpat and Gwaltabi. Security Forces Columns deployed in these vacant villages responded in a calibrated manner to avoid any collateral damage.

Bike rally began from Mantripukhri Garrison which culminated at INA Museum, Moirang. More than 70 cyclists, including 18 Assam Rifles personnel led by Col Anil Kshetri participated in the rally.
According to an official statement, Guwahati Zonal Unit of the DRI carried out the operation in which one vehicle was also seized.
