The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said fairly widespread to widespread rains are very likely over many parts of north and northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days.
IMD had predicted generally cloudy skies with moderate rain or thundershowers on Sunday.
The minimum temperature at the Safdarjung Observatory, which provides representative data for Delhi, settled at 26.8 degrees Celsius while the relative humidity recorded at 8.30 am was 83 pc.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, IMD said.
On Wednesday night, 57 people were rescued from Kali Pahadi in Shivpuri district while 13 people were rescued from Teela area in Shivpuri, officials said.
The month started with the national capital recording three heatwave days on the trot -- July 1, July 2, and July 3.
IMD has issued a yellow alert for Sunday, and orange alert also for Monday.
The active southwest monsoon will gain more intensity in the coming days due to which heavy to very heavy rain in Nagaur, Sikar, and Ajmer districts are likely on Friday.

MeT officials said Delhi is in for a week-long spell of "light to moderate" rain with the monsoon trough passing through the region.

Delhi is expected to receive moderate rain during the day, while maximum temperature may settle around 34 degrees Celsius, it said.
IMD predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, central Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe for Monday.
IMD department has issued an orange alert for July 26 and forecast a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds of the speed of 30-40 km/hr.
IMD on Friday issued two red alerts of heavy to very heavy rainfall for isolated places in eastern and western parts of Madya Pradesh.
IMD on Friday predicted heavy rainfall in twelve districts of Telangana.
Incidents of water-logging leaving people stranded were also reported from Mumbra, Bhiwandi, Titwala and Kasara areas of Thane district.
Navi Mumbai and Thane have been put on Orange alert, while Mumbai has been put on Yellow alert.
Six rain-related deaths were reported on Tuesday in Punjab and Maharashtra, where rivers have swollen due to intense rainfall.
