Chhapra hooch tragedy: The death toll in the hooch tragedy, due to the consumption of spurious liquor, in Bihar's Saran district has soared to 39. In the wake of the Hooch tragedy in Chhapra, the Station House Officer Ritesh Mishra and Constable Vikesh Tiwari were suspended.
At least one person has died and two others are undergoing treatment after they allegedly consumed spurious liquor in Bihar's Vaishali district, said a police official on Sunday.
According to reports, all victims consumed liquor and went to their respective homes. After two to three hours, they started vomiting and their condition worsened.
Most of the victims had consumed the liquor on Thursday evening at the `tehravin’, the 13th day of mourning after a relative’s death in Balupur village, near Roorkee.
