Himachal Pradesh rains: The weather office warned of low-flash flood risk in parts of Chamba, Kangra, Shimla and Sirmaur districts till Saturday and cautioned of the possibility of damage to plantations, crops, vulnerable structures and kutcha houses.
Himachal rains: Officials said that more than 100 people have been killed in rain-related incidents and the state has suffered losses of about Rs 842 crores between June 27 and August 9.
Seventy-nine people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents, as per the Himachal Pradesh Emergency Operation Centre. Rescue operations at a large scale are underway as several people are still missing after the cloudburst.
"We shall have to seek amendments in law as in most of the places there are forests Rights act implemented in the state. We shall speak to the Union government in this regard,” said Revenue Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jagat Singh Negi.
Himachal Pradesh: Shimla has witnessed a spell of landslides in the past weeks. The rain-related incidents in Shimla in the past 10 days rising to 27, which include 20 deaths in Summer Hill landslide, five in Fagli and two in Krishna Nagar.
