Female students at SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh have accused the college management of covering up the presence of hidden cameras in a women’s washroom. The issue sparked protests, leading to an official inquiry ordered by the Chief Minister.
The incident of the hidden camera in the girls' hostel has questioned the entire society again at a time when the country is protesting over the R G Kar doctor's rape and murder and the Malayalam film industry is witnessing its MeToo moment.
Women were being filmed with the hidden cameras, the education department officials confirmed, adding that several women had reported the presence of cameras in the washrooms to the department.
When asked about the employment status of the pilots and the allegations of retaliation, Southwest Airlines declined to comment. "At this time, we have no other comment on the pending litigation," the airline said.
