Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM ) chief Hemant Soren will take oath as 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on Sunday along with three other ministers, one from JMM and another from Congress. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 2 pm at Morabadi ground in Ranchi.
JMM working president Hemant Soren on Tuesday met Jharkhand Governor Droupadi Murmu and staked claim to form government in the state. Earlier in the day, he was formally elected as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) legislature party leader.
Extending wishes to JMM working chief, Uddhav Thackeray said, "Congratulations to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress and RJD alliance for securing majority under the leadership of @HemantSorenJMM Ji in the Jharkhand Assembly polls."
Sonia Gandhi, the interim chief of the Congress, said that victory of JMM-Congress-RJD alliance in Jharkhand election is of prime importance after BJP failed to retain power in the state, winning just 25 seats in the 81 member assembly.
In 2014, Hemant Soren won a seat in the Jharkhand assembly and became the leader of the opposition. During his political ascendency, he was able to sideline JMM's senior leaders like Stephen Marandi, Simon Marandi and Hemlal Murmu, prompting them to quit the party.

JMM working president Hemant Soren, who contested the election from two seats — Barhait and Dumka, has claimed victory in both the seats in the Jharkhand assembly election.
