Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister took detailed information from officials concerned about the situation of excessive rainfall in the state.
The Met department said the downpour, caused by a low-pressure area over north Telangana and strong southeasterly wind, is likely to continue till Wednesday.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) here said heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad and other districts from Saturday night till Sunday morning.
"All 7-teams deployed at locations are active on the ground to rescue people from flood-like situation after heavy downpour", the officials said.
The district administration alerted residents living on the banks of the river as the water level may increase further due to discharge from the Gangapur dam.
Heavy rainfall in catchment areas of the Manjara dam forced authorities to open all 18 gates of the reservoir to discharge water on Tuesday, which led to flooding in some villages in Beed district.
Odisha on Sunday experienced light to moderate rainfall as cyclone Gulab made landfall at a place in Andhra Pradesh, about 95 kilometres from Gopalpur in the state where a large number of people have been evacuated as a precautionary measure, officials said.
The Odisha government has already mobilised men and machinery and launched an evacuation drive in seven identified districts in the southern parts of the state.

Earlier on Sunday, IMD informed that a cyclonic circulation hovering over North West Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha-West Bengal-Bangladesh coasts was extending upto mid-tropospheric levels tilting south-westwards with height.
West Bengal experienced heavy rain since Sunday night and throughout Monday morning. The weathermen forecast more downpours in the next 24 hours.
The Met department has forecast more heavy rain or thunderstorms till Tuesday morning in most districts of south Bengal, including in Kolkata.
