Hours after the dust had settled in the fields and political parties had departed, the family of the Hathras victim decided that they will not immerse the ashes of their daughter unless it is confirmed that it was she, who had been cremated in the dead of the night by the police.
Sharma further stated that the report is not clear on rape and Court has also taken Suo Motu cognizance. "Once its clear, NCW will give notice to everyone. I have details of each and every person putting pictures on social media or on posters," said she.
The agitation and protests against the Uttar Pradesh administration over handling of the Hathras gangrape and murder case continued on Sunday. Though Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already recommended a CBI probe into the case, on Sunday said that the opposition was indulging in a conspiracy to incite caste-driven communal riots in the state.
The victim's brother also echoed similar concerns. "They should prove the cremated body was my Didi's. Also, why did they pour petrol to burn the body. We have no faith on anyone till we get answers to these questions," he said.
