The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Thursday took suo motu cognizance of the Hathras incident and issued notice to the Uttar Pradesh government. It also cited a report shown in India TV's 'Aaj Ki Baat' programme anchored by Editor-In-Chief and Chairman, Rajat Sharma, over conduct of UP Police over forcible cremation of the Hathras victim.
Amid outrage over Hathras gangrape, a video has surfaced in which the District Magistrate (DM) was heard saying to victim's family that media is there today but won't be there tomorrow... so it was upto them whether to change their statement or not.
Hitting out at the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that as Goddess Sita had togo through 'Agni Pariksha', the Dalit woman who died after being gang-raped and brutalised in Hathras was put on a funeral pyre in the dead of the night.
According to news agency ANI, ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar has said, “No semen has been found in the forensic report. The FSL report has already clarified that there was no rape on the victim.”

She is on her way to Harthras, to meet the family of the 19-year-old who was allegedly gang-raped.
