Yamuna river water level: The Delhi government is on high alert due to the discharge of more than 2 lakh cusecs of water from the Hathnikund Barrage into the Yamuna river, Atishi said.
Hathnikund barrage: The torrential Yamuna in Delhi swelled to a staggering 208.66 metres Thursday evening, inundating nearby streets and public and private infrastructure, and causing immense hardships to people living in close proximity to the river.
Authorities have started to evacuate people living in the Yamuna catchment area following a sharp rise in the river water level, the officials said.
