Angered by the lack of preference given to him by state leadership, Hardik on Monday removed "Congress" from his Twitter bio and a picture of the party symbol from his profile picture.
Hardik Patel recently changed his WhatsApp profile picture from the Congress tricolour scarf to one with a saffron scarf. He even deleted Cogress from his WhatsApp bio.
Interestingly, Hardik, who is the state Congress working president, expressed his grouse a day after he hinted at contesting elections after the Supreme Court stayed his conviction in a 2015 rioting and arson case.
Hardik Patel while maintaining that he is also a 'proud' Hindu, said that the BJP has a "leadership with terrific decision-making ability".
The Gujarat Congress working president even alleged that the leaders of his party's state unit were harassing him and want him to leave the party.
Hardik Patel, who was inducted in the Congress by Rahul Gandhi just before the 2017 Gujarat election, exposed the internal turmoil in the opposition party as he accused the leadership of sidelining him.
Hardik Patel said that demands related to the 2015 agitation put forth by the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) have still not been fulfilled. And this has forced him and other Patidar leaders to revive the agitation.
