The Delhi government on Thursday extended the ban on manufacture, storage, sale and distribution of gutkha and pan masala for one more year. Food Safety Commissioner D N Singh issued a notification on the ban of these products.
The Assam government has banned the manufacture, distribution, and sale of gutka and pan masala containing tobacco and nicotine for a period of one year with immediate effect.
The decision was taken in view of the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine-based chewing products like gutka and pan masala on human health.
