Indian gold futures also hit a record high on Monday and squeezed demand in the world's second-biggest consumer of the metal, said dealers. Gold prices across the world have been boosted due to growing rate-cut expectations, central bank purchases and geopolitical tensions.
A recent, World Gold Council data suggested that the for quarter ended September 2021 demand for gold jumped to 47 per cent YoY to 139.1 tonnes as compared to 94.6 tonnes in the year ago.
