A 34-year-old cleric of the madrasa, where a minor girl was allegedly raped after being kidnapped from east Delhi's Ghazipur, was arrested last month. Police said the cleric was aware of the crime.
Rajesh Mishra was also a journalist and had written many articles against mafias active in the region. He was working with Hindi daily Dainik Jagran.
It landfill site was saturated in 2002, and the civic body has been "looking for an alternative site for long time, but a clearance from the NGT is needed".
