The move is expected to benefit over 5 lakh flat owners across Uttar Pradesh, giving major relief to those living in the National Capital region (NCR), including Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida.
The matter was pending with the state government as the owners were seeking some relaxation in penalty and interest amount, they said.
The police said that further investigation is underway in this case.
