The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Hathras, Prem Prakash Meena gave clarification on incident in Hathras, where police lathi charged Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) workers.

Speaking on why media has been restricted to enter Hathras village, Additional SP Prakash Kumar said, "the restriction on the entry of media into the village will stay till the SIT completes its probe there. Due to the prevailing law & order situation, no political delegations or individuals will be allowed to visit the village."
While India TV reporter was trying to enter the village to meet family of the victim. Several local people tried to stop the journalist and also assaulted him.

The TMC on Friday alleged that its leaders were stopped by the Uttar Pradesh Police from meeting the family members of the Hathras gangrape victim. In a statement, the party said that the delegation of Trinamool Congress MPs was stopped by police around 1.5 kilometres from the victim's home.

Section 144 has been imposed in UP's Hathras, where a 19-year-old victim was brutalised and later forcibly buried by police, till October 31. Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi were detained on their way and were not allowed to meet the victim's family.
UP Police today stopped IndiaTV journalist Amit Palit from meeting the family of Hathras victim. On being asked as to under which section the media is not being allowed to meet the family, the police had no clue and seen speechless.
Amid outrage over Hathras gangrape, a video has surfaced in which the District Magistrate (DM) was heard saying to victim's family that media is there today but won't be there tomorrow... so it was upto them whether to change their statement or not.
