Prime Minister Modi said, "Today, as India begins its G-20 Presidency, penned a few thoughts on how we want to work in the coming year based on an inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive agenda to further global good."
Making the announcement, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday that India will hold the G20 presidency from December 1, 2022, and will convene the G20 leaders' summit in 2023 for the first time.
The announcement was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the closing ceremony of the 13th G-20 summit in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires on Saturday.
"I'm grateful and I invite leadership from across the world to come to India in 2022," said PM Modi.
