With the latest hike, the price of petrol in the city shot up to Rs 107.41 per litre and that of diesel to Rs 100.13 per litre.
The fuel rates vary from state to state and also in cities, depending on the incidence of local taxes like value-added tax (VAT) and freight charges.
Petrol price for the third straight day hiked by 25 paise a litre and diesel by 30 paise, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.
Petrol and diesel prices have the breached Rs 100 mark in several cities in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Diesel prices were raised on September 24 by 20 paisa per litre and again by 25 paisa per litre each on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and by 30 paisa per litre on Thursday and Friday.
Diesel rates increased to Rs 89.87 a litre in Delhi and Rs 97.52 in Mumbai. Prices differ from state to state depending on the incidence of local taxes.
