Foreign portfolio investors made a net investment of Rs 13,047 crore in equities from January 1 to January 19, according to data from the depositories.
The massive capital outflow has significantly contributed to the depreciation in the Indian rupee, which breached the 79 per dollar mark recently.
FPIs have taken the total net investments to Rs 2,312 crore, as per the latest depository data.
