DGGI, the investigative arm under the GST regime, said head offices of foreign airlines providing services like ental, maintenance of aircraft and crew salaries are taxable under the reverse charge mechanism. It has sought clarification from ten foreign airlines.
"The data shows that in last year's winter schedule, foreign airlines operated 2,262 flights per week, which would increase by 3.05 per cent to 2,331 flights per week in this year's winter schedule," said an official of Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
