Cold Wave: As per satellite imagery and available visibility data, the fog layer extended from Punjab and adjoining northwest Rajasthan to Bihar across Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Air India news: Under the new FogCare initiative, Air India will be taking proactive steps to isolate the impact of fog on flight operations, which usually takes place in the early mornings and late evenings, but often also cascades throughout the day.
Himachal Pradesh snowfall: The night temperatures have dropped in most parts of the state. During the past 24 hours, the temperatures have dropped in the region. Kukumseri in the Lahaul-Spiti District of the state recorded the lowest night temperature at minus 7.9 degree Celsius.

Dense to very dense fog is predicted in parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Sikkim, Meghalaya and Tripura over the next two to three days.
IMD has alerted that a fresh active western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from 21st January.
The data recorded by the national weather forecasting agency stated that the visibility in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, Bahraich, Sultanpur, Varanasi and Allahabad was at 50 metres at 5.30 am today.
The fog also caused a cold day due to the absence of sunlight in the day and also a little windy from northwest of 8-12kmph towards noon, IMD said.
Weather is foggy in famous Shimla. The hill station also received rainfall. IMD predicts "thunderstorm with rain" in the city.
A thick blanket of fog continued to engulf isolated areas of the national capital leading to poor visibility in several areas on the morning of February 14.
