The former chief minister requesting for bail before the Special CBI Court in Ranchi, insisted judge Shiv Pal Singh for letting him have the the curd and flattened rice delicacy as part of Makar Sankranti celebrations.
The case relates to alleged fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 35.62 crore from the Chaibasa treasury in the 1990s when Lalu was the chief minister of undivided Bihar.
The former Bihar chief minister, who is lodged in Ranchi's Bira Munda jail, was earlier this month sentenced to three-and-a-half-years jail in second case of over Rs 900 crore fodder scam linked to illegal withdrawal of money from Deogarh treasury.
Mahto and Yadav, who were reportedly charged with minor offences, were claimed to be serving Prasad as helper and cook.

The CBI court judge said that said that “gau palan (cattle rearing) is a good option for the convicts as they have ‘good knowledge of fodder and cattle medicine’”.
Rabri Devi, a former Bihar chief minister, told reporters at the residence of Gangotri Devi that the latter was about four years elder to the RJD chief and that she had not been keeping well for some time.
Lalu’s son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that the trial court’s decision will be challenged in the high court.
The special CBI court in Ranchi sentenced Lalu to three-and-a-half years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on him in the fodder scam case relating to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from the Deoghar Treasury 21 years ago.
Tejashwi Yadav said that the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leaders must understand their party had actually split, not the RJD.
CBI court judge Shiv Pal Singh, who had convicted Prasad, along with 10 others on December 23, also imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on him for two cases in the scam.
The Special CBI Court had on December 23 convicted Lalu for offences of cheating with criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The assertions were made by Shivanand Tiwary and senior party leader Jagdanand Singh.
During the quantum hearing today, RJD chief Lalu Prasad was asked to appear via video conferencing. Prasad appeared before the court from Birsa Munda central jail where he is lodged.
According to a lawyer who was present in the courtroom, Lalu Yadav told the judge: "Sir, jail me thanda bahut lagta hai. (It is very cold in the prison.)"
On December 23 last year, the court had convicted Lalu and 15 others in a case related to the fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 84.5 lakh from the Deoghar district treasury in Bihar between 1990 and 1994.
The court had yesterday served contempt notices to senior leaders of the RJD and the Congress for criticising in TV channels the December 23 conviction of Prasad in the fodder scam case.
The CBI court had on December 23 convicted Lalu Prasad and 15 others in the case relating to the multi-million-rupee scam.
