Gujarat Director of Fisheries Narander Kumar Meena said the decision was taken after taking into account representations made by the fishermen's association and the scientific data and weather conditions.
The annual two-month monsoon trawling ban along the Karnataka coast will come into force from June 1, as per the notification issued under the Karnataka Marine Fishing (regulation) Act.
Starting from 2020, the ban will be observed in 332 conservation areas in Chinese Yangtze River basin, which will also be expanded to all natural waterways of the river and its major tributaries from no later than January 1, 2021.
Nagapattinam/Karaikal: The annual 45-day ban on fishing in Nagapattinam and Karaikal coastal areas in Tamil Nadu commenced today.The Tamil Nadu and Puducherry governments have imposed the ban under the Deep sea Fishing Regulation Act, 2001.
