Eight fire tenders were working to douse the blaze at the garage on Christopher Road which was used as a godown, officials said.
The SHO of Tibba police station, Ranbir Singh, identified the victims as a couple and their five children. Their names are yet to be ascertained. The cause of the fire was not yet established.
Ghaziabad's district Magistrate while speaking on the matter said that prima facie it looked like around 15-20 cows have been charred to death.
In a letter to CFEES, the ministry has also asked it to share the findings along with the remedial measures for improvement and to prevent such incidents in the future.
EDMC standing committee chairman Beer Singh Panwar said the fire was caused due to high temperatures as plastic is one of the major components of the legacy waste and methane keeps getting generated.
Officials said that cylinders inside the shop also exploded. Rescue operation is underway.
Two fire officials were injured while fighting the blaze and they were hospitalized, the official said.
As per the details, one of the fire officers got injured during rescue operation which ended after 2-hours.
A police patrol team noticed the blaze at around 3.15 AM and alerted the Fire department and seven fire engines including one from the Army were rushed to the spot.
A total of 12 fire engines, 10 tankers along with 150 firefighters have been deployed for firefighting operation.
