The Odisha government on Wednesday submitted a preliminary report which estimated damages of Rs 11,942 crore due to cyclone Fani that hit the coastal districts on May 3.
The Odisha government on Tuesday decided to use drones to locate about 4,000 spotted deer who were missing from a sanctuary in Puri District following Cyclone Fani.
In his first interview since Cyclone Fani that ravaged the coastal districts killing 41 people, Naveen Patnaik said special category status is the need of the hour due to the massive loss to infrastructure which may stall growth of the state.
