The Falcon Heavy has three first-stage boosters, strapped together with 27 engines in all.
SpaceX plans to perform a static test-fire of the boosters in the middle of next month, followed by a launch of Falcon Heavy late-December.
SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket on Monday launched KoreaSat 5A communications satellite from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
