As part of the steps taken to boost exports, India will organise annual mega shopping festivals, similar to the ones held in Dubai, to facilitate exchange between global producers and consumers, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Saturday.
India's exports dropped by 6.05 per cent to USD 26.13 billion in August compared to the year-ago month, official data released on Friday showed.
"Cooperative Sector Exports Promotion Forum (CSEPF) has been set up in National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) which will work with 20 states and union territories in the area of export," Goyal said at a press conference here.
The company, which makes two-wheelers and three-wheelers, had sold 3,13,614 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Co said in a statement.
As per the data furnished by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, electronic goods, organic and inorganic chemicals, drugs and pharmaceuticals and engineering goods showed high export growth during the month under review.
India's services exports rose by 6.6 per cent to USD 17.94 billion in March, according to the data released by the Reserve Bank Wednesday.
On the prices front, the report said, reversal in food prices that have remained unusually low are likely to push up inflation.
According to trade data released by the commerce ministry, in last December, exports grew by 0.34 per cent (lowest in three months), while imports entered negative zone, registering a decline of 2.44 per cent to USD 41 billion.
"While India has focussed on innovation, infrastructure, structural reforms and ease of doing business, a lot of work still needs to be done on gender parity and exports and ensuring that India has growth with equity," Kant said while addressing the 98th Annual Session of Assocham here.

Earlier in July, the government enhanced the duty benefits to 10 per cent under the Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS) for certain agriculture and dairy sector items.
