The explosion caused a minor fire in the house gutting the air-conditioning machine and some household articles.
The incident happened on Apr 20, when detachable battery of electric two-wheeler kept on charge in a room burst triggering flames resulting in burn injuries to 3 people sleeping there while another family member was injured while trying to douse the flames, police said.
Commenting on the situation, the police said, "A mysterious explosion took place outside a slum in Kotranka late Tuesday night. A husband-wife duo sustained injuries and was hospitalised."
