Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the best state in ease of doing business ranking, retaininig its top position in the ranking of states and union territories (UTs) based on the implementation of the business reform action plan, according to a report released by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.
EDB index is based upon three parameters- Attractiveness to Investors, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness Policies.

India has jumped 23 spots to 77th rank in World Bank's 'Ease of doing business' index announced on Wednesday. In 2017, India was placed at the 100th spot.
The rankings, jointly prepared by the World Bank and DIPP, serve as a check-list of sorts for evaluating states on a 340-point Business Reform Action Plan, between the period of July, 2016 and July, 2018.
Romer said the World Bank is "beginning the process of correcting the past reports and republishing what the rankings would have been without the methodology changes".
