The landslide occurred at Liangshui village of Zhaotong city, trapping 47 people, on Monday. The 7.1 magnitude earthquake injured six people, two with serious injuries, and resulted in the collapse of 47 houses.
Tremors were felt as far away as the neighboring countries Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and even Delhi-NCR. So far there are no reports of any damage.
Earthquake jolts were felt in Delhi NCR.
According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.
Japan earthquake: As of writing this article, neither the government has released any reports of injuries or tsunami warnings.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:20 pm in the Hindu Kush region, Afghanistan at a depth of 213km. It had a longitude of 70.63 East and a latitude of 36.16 North.
