A 4.8 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal early Saturday morning, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The tremor, recorded at a depth of 10 kilometers, caused no casualties or damage. Nepal, situated along the Himalayan fault line, remains a high-risk zone for seismic activity.

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck Afghanistan’s Hindu Kush region at 9:17 PM on Wednesday, impacting parts of northern and northwestern Pakistan. This quake followed a similar one from earlier in the day, with both occurring at a depth of over 220 km.
The USGS said the quake’s centre was located 37 kilometres west-southwest of Afghanistan’s Ishkashim town and had a 220.7km depth.
As per officials, the earthquake was felt in nearby provinces including Diyarbakir, Elazig, Sanliurfa and Tunceli, as well as in some parts of northern Syria. It struck the town of Kale in Malatya province.
The earthquake was mild and was centred near Udalguri. The tremors were felt across Northeastern states including Arunachal Pradesh, and Nagaland. The tremors were also felt in neighbouring country Bhutan.
According to the USGS, the strong quake was recorded about 4.35 miles north of Malibu and about 8 miles from the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks. The temblor took place just before 7:30 a.m. local time
Earthquake in Delhi-NCR: Several people claimed that they felt tremors in Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore in Pakistan, and New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir in India.
Tremors of the 5.8 magnitude earthquake were felt not only in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces of Pakistan, but also in Delhi-NCR. No reports of injuries or material damage has been confirmed yet.
On Monday, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan's sparsely populated Hualien County on the east coast, according to the island's weather administration. There have been no immediate reports of damage.

The massive earthquake of magnitude 7 prompted authorities to issue a tsunami warning, however, they later withdrew it. There is no report of damage to properties or lives as of now, said the official sources.
Surveillance cameras in eastern Taiwan captured the moments when a 6.3 magnitude quake rocked the area on August 16. This was the second strong tremor in less than a day that hit Taiwan.
