The Indian Coast Guard initiated a coordinated sea and air operation after the pilot of ICG Dornier aircraft noticed a suspicious movement of a fishing trawler near Barren Island, some 150 km from Port Blair. The ICG also arrested six Myanmarese nationals from the trawler.
On October 5, a joint team of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Gujarat ATS raided a facility in Bhopal which was involved in manufacturing drugs. The operation assisted by local MP Police led to seizures of over 1,800 crore.
More than 25 kilograms of meth and raw material were seized. Estimated worth exceeds 100 crore rupees. Four individuals were apprehended in connection with the operation.
Police seized 1.9 kg heroin, Rs 6.80 lakh, 1.1 kg opium, 87.5 kg poppy husk, 10,125 intoxicant tablets, 18 injections and 885 litres of illicit liquor, Special DGP Arpit Shukla said.
A combined team of security forces apprehended six drugs traffickers, including two Myanmar nationals, and seized drugs worth over Rs 165 crores on Monday morning from Moreh and Tengnuopal district in Manipur.
