Dr. Kafeel Khan had been suspended along with seven others in August 2017 when over 60 children died due to disruption in the oxygen supply at the BRD hospital. Seven doctors, except Khan, were later reinstated.
In the writ petition, it was disclosed that seven persons out of nine who were suspended along with the petitioner have been reinstated pending conclusion of disciplinary proceedings. The order for suspension against Dr Khan was passed on August 22, 2017.
Hours after the Allahabad High Court granted conditional bail to Dr Kafeel Khan, he was released from Mathura jail on September 01.
The maternal uncle of Dr Kafeel Khan, who was recently arrested for allegedly making inflammatory statements during anti-CAA protests, was shot dead in front of his house at Bankatichak in Rajghat area in Gorakhpur, police said on Sunday.

Around 11 pm, in Gorakhpur's Humayunpur north area near the JP hospital, some bike-borne miscreants shot at Kashif Jameel. He sustained injuries on his right upper arm, neck and chin, Kotwali police station Inspector Ghanshyam Tiwari said.
