Petrol, diesel prices get a cut in Delhi only, no change in other metro cities

While in Delhi and Mumbai petrol was at Rs 75.85 per litre and Rs 83.24 per litre respectively on July 6, in Kolkata and Chennai, petrol was at Rs 78.53 and Rs 78.72.
The price of petrol in Delhi climbed to Rs 75.71 per litre from Rs 75.55 and diesel to Rs 67.50 a litre from Rs 67.38, according to price notification of Indian Oil Corp (IOC).
However, the price of crude oil increased in the international market on Tuesday due to Libyan oil exports.
There was a reduction of 10 paise per litre in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and 14 paise in Mumbai.
Petrol and diesel price were last revised on June 12 when they were cut by 15 paise and 10 paisa a litre, respectively.

However, despite the cut, petrol prices were hovering above the Rs 80-mark in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
Prices of both petrol and diesel were cut by 9 paise each to cost Rs 78.20 per litre and 69.11 per litre in Delhi respectively on Saturday.
State-run Indian Oil Corp. Ltd (IOC) reduced diesel and petrol prices by 5 paise and 7 paise per litre, respectively
Rates of LPG cylinders went up by up to Rs 77 on Friday. While subsidised LPG cylinder became dearer by Rs 2.34, non-subsidised cylinder would now cost Rs 48 more.
The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) later clarified that its website carried out wrong fuel prices due to some technical fault.
While Petrol touched Rs 78.43 per litre in Delhi, it was crossed Rs 86-mark to sell at Rs 86.24 per litre in Mumbai. Diesel in Delhi stood at Rs 69.31 per litre and Rs 73.79 per litre in Mumbai.
The Narendra Modi Government, which will be celebrating its fourth anniversary on Saturday, May 26, has come under severe criticism from the Oppostion over the skyrocketing fuel prices.
In Delhi, petrol was being sold at Rs 77.47 per litre and diesel at 68.53 per litre. The price of petrol breached the Rs 85-mark in Mumbai to sell at Rs 85.29 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol touched an all time time of Rs 84.99 per litre, while diesel was being sold at Rs 77. 76 per litre. Both the major petroleum products witnessed a hike of 29 paise per litre and 28 paise per paise per litre respectively.

In the national capital Delhi, the price of petrol was at Rs 76.87 per litre, while the cost of diesel went up to Rs 68.08 per litre.
