Both rail and air traffic was affected as visibility dipped considerably as thick fog enveloped the region. The Met Department has forecast "severe cold conditions" accompanied by light rains and drizzle in the city for Saturday.
After the fog dissipated, the train, which doesn't have a locomotive, ran at an average speed of 130 kmph, officials said.
The Met office on Wednesday warned of cold days ahead as the minimum temperature in the national capital and adjoining areas is set to fall by 3-4 degrees Celsius due to likely cold winds.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted the air-quality and visibility to improve from January 23 as it was most likely to rain.
